shades of purple

yesterday at blossoms, we got in gorgeous flowers for an upcoming wedding. they were just so perfect i had to share! purple, purple, purple!

scabiosa: very quickly made its way into my list of top 5 fave flowers. they are just so delicate, dainty and lacy and such a beautiful shade of lavender

such lush hydrangea!

antique purple hydrangea--this dusty color is so romantic to me

purple stock--get your hands on some and smell the heck out of them! they smell really spice-y, like nutmeg and cinnamon

embroidered carrot

craft night with corinne and lynn: having gone through martha's encyclopedia of sewing and fabric crafts, i was so inspired to embroider some adorable fruits and veggies! i've never embroidered before but i am happy to report i successfully made a carrot! the picture is a bit blurry, but once i've made my garden or basket of food, i will take good pictures and post them. cuuuutie!

others i'm going to attempt: eggplant, corn, raspberries, blueberries, mushroom, onion...what others?

you see how picky i am about my shoes and they only go on my feet

the past few days have been cold and rainy here in asheville, making me dread, and i mean dread, winter. i've noticed that my worry for this impending doom (too dramatic?) has caused me to overlook the beautiful season that is upon us! one thing that is going to get me through the steadily decreasing temperature is a fantastic new pair of boots! which ones do you like?

boots by madewell. i love the horsey look.

i feel like gently mucking a stall at my farm in upstate ny in these

i see a pattern in my boot style...should i venture out? suggest some for me below!

first.

hello all!

i'd like to welcome you to the very first blog post of my very first blog. i've recently had this burning desire to start one and share the goings on in my life and fun and adorable things i find.

since spring, i've been working at a flower shop and have been introduced to some of the most beautiful flowers and arrangements! for my first post, i'd like to show one of the cutest things i've seen recently--pumpkin tree. we got them in the other week and we've been putting them in arrangement and they are just too adorable for words!! the plant goes by many names-- pumpkin tree, pumpkin on a stick, hmong eggplant. it's actually an ornamental eggplant! too cutie! they're so bitty--3 fit in the palm of my hand!

more soon! xox c
